ZEW – An Eurozone market indicator

Zentrum fur Europaische Wirtschaftsforschung (ZEW) is an index about what does investor think about the upcoming economic health for the next 6 month. This index was derived from surveys, conducted by German investors and analyst.

If the index value falls bellow 0, then there are pesimism about the coresponding currency, if the index gets above 0, then there is optimism about the coresponding currency. As for today (11 Nov 2008) ZEW index release was expected to get better but was still on bellow 0 (the expected value was -62.5, that is 0.5% better than previous month release)

Considering the most of a bearish momentum for EURUSD pair, there should be corrections to  1.2900 and 1.2850 zone before it resume it’s bearish momentum to 1.2500 until 1.2600 zone.

Ekspektasi rate dari FED – 29 Okt 08

Secara global sudah dapat dipastikan bahwa FED akan menurunkan suku bunga-50bp menjadi 1%, hal ini dimaksudkan untuk menolong / membantu mendongkrak nilai mata uang dollar. Semakin banyak dollar yang dapat dipergunakan untuk menggerakkan perekonomian, maka diharapkan dalam jangka panjang bahwa perekonomian akan berangsur-angsur akan pulih. Demikian ekspektasi para pelaku pasar, dan diyakinkan bahwa Bernanke tidak akan mengecewakan pasar.

Seperti yang kita lihat pada pair EURUSD saat ini 29 Oktober 2008 yang sedang menuju ke arah BULLISH, dan walaupun demikian, kami yakin bahwa “ranging chart” akan senantiasa terjadi pada area 1.2450 sampai dengan 1.3200 alih-alih FED sudah mengumumkan penurunan suku bunganya, maka para pelaku pasar akan kembali menilik ECB yang dapat menghentikan trend BULLISH dari pair EURUSD.
